Swiss Chicken,Try This
  • Wrap pan-fried chicken fillets in smoked ham, top with a Swiss-style cheese slice and bake until melted.
  • Grate Gruyere or Raclette over sliced cooked potatoes, sautéed leeks and chopped bacon and grill until golden.
  • Grill Swiss-style cheese onto bread rounds and float on top of French onion, pumpkin or minestrone soup.
  • Stuff a chicken fillet with a piece of Gouda or Edam and a semi-dried tomato, chargrill and serve over sautéed spinach.
  • Make a frittata of ham, asparagus and grated Swiss-style or Gruyere cheese.
  • Mix grated Havarti cheese and toasted cashews into white sauce and pour over cauliflower or broccoli.
  • Toss a spinach salad with crisp fried bacon, cherry tomatoes and shavings of Gouda or Edam.

Fabulous Fondue

Rub the inside of a fondue pot with a clove of garlic, add 1 cup dry white wine and heat. Combine 2 cups grated Gruyere or Raclette, 2 cups grated Swiss-style cheese, salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon cornflour and slowly mix into wine until melted. Finish with a dash of Kirsch or brandy, and serve with crusty bread cubes, blanched vegetables and cold meats.
